Following defeat against APR last weekend, IPRC-South are plotting for a win against basketball league title hopefuls Espoir when the two sides meet on Saturday at Amahoro Indoor Stadium. Playoffs reigning champions IPRC-South began their season with a comfortable 85-37 win over 30-Plus; however, the Huye-based side lost the second game 69-64 in-front of their home fans.

However, head coach Charles Mushumba wants his team to bounce back against the four-time league champions Espoir, who have won their opening two games.

Under new head coach Maxime Mwiseneza, Espoir have proved a side to worry about after they overwhelmed Cercile Sportif de Kigali (CSK) 127-32 in their league opener before overcoming 30-Plus 91-31.

"We cannot afford to lose two games in a row, we have to win the game on Saturday (today), Espoir has proved to be a very strong side this season, but we have a good record against them and I hope we can maintain it,” said Mushumba. Last season, IPRC-South under Didier Bineza stunned the four-time league winners 83-64 to win the 2015/16 pre-season tournament before beating them again in the league 64-55.

This game will be preceded by the clash between winless CSK and IPRC-Kigali at the same venue, starting at 10am.
