Police FC striker Danny Usengimana has signed a new two-year contract that will keep him with the law enforcers’ side until end of the 2017/18 season.

The Rwanda international, who put pen to paper early this week, is second league top scorer with six goals, one behind Etincelles’ Salita Kambale, in eight matches.

Confirming the news, the former Isonga FC striker said, "Since I came here I have always felt good and the club has been very supportive to me. The club helped me improve a lot, the fans have been fantastic and I have an amazing understanding with my team-mates, so I am happy to sign a new contract.”

Police FC spokesman, CIP Jean De Dieu Mayira said, "We are glad that Dany has signed a new contract. It shows he believes in the club. He is already a top player and can only get better here.”

The 20-year-old finished last season as the league joint-top scorer with 16 goals, along with Mukura’s Muhadjiri Hakizimana, who has since joined league champions APR FC.

Police FC, who are third on the league table standing with 17 points, will face Etincelles in their next league fixture on Sunday at Kicukiro Stadium.
