After seven league matches without a loss, Rayon Sports Coach Djuma Masudi has said that he will be looking forward to his 8th win in the league against Gicumbi FC at Kigali Regional Stadium today.

Speaking ahead of today’s game, Masudi said Rayon is going through a revival phase which makes them dangerous opponents and are looking to stay unbeaten for as long as possible.

"One thing about Gicumbi is that it is the team which can cause any team problems, but we are ready for the challenge. My main ambition is to deliver good performance one game at a time,” said Masudi.

The former Burundi international noted that his team will embrace the pressure and do the right things.

"We remain unbeaten in seven matches and we will go into the game against Gicumbi with a purpose to win. What is important for me is the fact that we’re getting better game after game, but we still have a long way to go. In the meantime, I can’t hide my satisfaction with the way we are going about our business,” he noted.

Hussein Baraka’s Gicumbi FC are in 13th position with four points after winning one, drawing one and losing five matches so far.

Baraka says, "We have not started well, but we need to turn the tables, we need to win more games starting on Saturday (today) against Rayon Sports. We have prepared well, so we will go into the game with the intention of getting a positive result.”

Rayon Sports lead the 16-team league table standing with 19 points, five ahead of second-placed APR, who are level with Police FC but the defending champions have a superior goal difference. APR still have a game in hand against Pepiniere which will be played on December 14.

Elsewhere on Saturday, third-place Police FC will take on bottom side Pepiniere at Ruyenzi ground seeking to win and leapfrog APR into second place at least for 24 hours until the army side play against Sunrise on Sunday. Marines FC, who are in 14th position with four points, will host 12th-placed Mukura Victory Sports (seven points) at Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu.
