Are you tired of skinny pants? Well, why not revamp your closet and add some wide legged pants?

From high or low waist to jumpsuits, these pants can make a grand fashion statement.

"All you need is to play around with tops and accessories to complete your great look. When choosing, go for long flared pants, when they fit well at the top opt for heels for an elegant look,” says Loice Uwase, a boutique owner at Giporoso in Remera.

Uwase adds that wide legged pants can make a classy fashion statement if paired well. One can pull off the look on a date night, over the weekend and if done well, they can also make for office wear.

"Go for those that flatter your figure; the ones that fit your body well. Heels and a matching handbag will add a sophisticated touch. Confidence will show how comfortable you are in the outfit,” she notes.

Delphine Uwamahoro,a stylist who focuses on bitenge at Kigali City Market Nyarugege, says these kinds of pants are more comfortable than any other, and that there are various ways one can look great in them, depending on the occasion at hand.

"For instance, bright coloured wide-legged trousers go well with dull coloured kitenge tops. And to make a statement, finish the look with a clutch that is in alignment with the earrings or shoes.

"When you choose dark colours, accessorise with a purse that has pieces of bright kitenge fabric. Go for a glittering top if you are going for a night out and a less attention-grabbing one for work,” she says.

Uwamahoro adds that one should always shop for lengthy wide legged pants that go slightly beyond the ankles.
