The second National Exporters Conference is set for today in Kigali. It will run under the theme: "Enhanced Public Private Dialogue Key for Increasing Exports.”

Organised by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and EAC Affairs, in collaboration with Private Sector Federation, the event will take place at the Kigali Serena Hotel.

The forum seeks to strengthen Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and will attract government institutions and the business leaders.

The government will seek to reaffirm its commitment to working with the private sector in scaling up the country’s exports, according to organisers.

At the event, performance contracts will be signed between exporters and government institutions that promote exports.

The conference is expected to attract 150 players in the exports field.

Government seeks to grow exports to narrow the trade deficit.

To achieve this, the country needs to sustain exports growth at 28 per cent per year.
