APR men’s basketball club has added American Center Dario Nathan Henry Hunt to their roster for the Basketball Africa League (BAL).

APR men’s basketball club has added American Center Dario Nathan Henry Hunt to their roster for the Basketball Africa League (BAL) season 4.

The army side continues to build a very competitive team ready to challenge for the 2023 championship and coach Mazen Trakh believes Hunt is a good addition that boosts the club’s chances of achieving the milestone.

Hunt, 34, is an experienced player who has played for various teams in the United States, Australia and Europe with stints in Ukraine, Austria, Italy, France, and Belgium. He has also played in the NBA Development League.

He is the latest signing for APR following countryman Zion Styles who signed for the club in December 2023.

Professional career

After going undrafted in the 2012 NBA draft, Hunt signed his first professional contract in July 2012 with Ukrainian team BC Odesa.

During his short spell at the club, running from September 28 through December 23, he played 21 games averaging 6.1 points and 4.5 rebounds.

He left the club in February 2013 and joined Austrian team UBC Güssing Knights where, in 13 games, he averaged 14.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

APR men’s basketball club has added American Center Dario Nathan Henry Hunt to their roster for the Basketball Africa League (BAL).

Hunt was acquired by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Development League in November 2013 and an ankle injury suffered in March 2014 led to the center missing seven games. Overall, he played 47 games at Vipers during the 2013–14 season, averaging 8.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.

In August 2014, Hunt signed a one-year deal with Italian team Upea Capo d'Orlando. In 30 games during the 2014–15 season, he averaged 10.1 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.

On July 31, 2015, he moved to Juvecaserta Basket, returning to Italy for a second stint. During the 2015–16 season, he played in the Serie A All-Star Game and was the league's rebounding leader. In 29 games, he averaged 11.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 1.4 blocks per game.

In 2016, Hunt signed with French team SLUC Nancy. During the 2016–17 season, he competed in the French League All-Star Game. he played 30 games for the club, averaging 9.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.

In July 2017, he signed with Germani Basket Brescia, returning to Italy for a third stint. In 32 games, he averaged 11.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

He spent just one season at the club and joined Belgian team Spirou Basket in July 2018 where he played 34 league games and averaged 12.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.

He also averaged 11.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.2 blocks in six FIBA Europe Cup games.

He was also named Most Valuable Player(MVP) at the 2018–19 Belgian League All-Star Game.

On August 2, 2019, Hunt signed with the Perth Wildcats in Australia for the 2019–20 NBL season. He was released by the Wildcats on January 8, 2020. In 21 games, he averaged 8.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.
