The U-20 national team, Junior Wasps, will face their Moroccan counterparts in the opening match of the inaugural edition of the Morocco U20 Partners Tournament, which gets underway on Thursday. The tourney will run through November 13.

The Rwandan side arrived in Morocco on Monday.

They are staying in Kenintra city.

The tournament has attracted Burkina Faso, Palestine, Rwanda and hosts Morocco.

The Rwandan team is under the tutelage of Bugesera head coach and former senior Amavubi assistant head coach Vincent Mashami.

The tournament seeks to give a platform to youngsters from Morocco and countries with which it has football partnership agreements to display their skills as part of broader efforts to develop the youth.

"We are looking forward to the tourney. The games will give the boys good experience because we will play against good sides,” Mashami said.

"It is good for our young players; they need to play as many international games as possible. The tournament is good for the boys. They are responding well in training” Mashami said just before the team headed to Morocco.

Mashami is being assisted Isonga head coach Musa Gatera and APR goalkeeping coach Ibrahim Mugisha.
