The future is bright for cricketers in Rwanda

As President Paul Kagame mentioned, “sports is a unifying force that builds both individual character and national cohesion and cricket is no exception”.

RE: "Kagame lauds Rwanda cricket devt efforts” (The New Times, November 1).

As President Paul Kagame mentioned, "sports is a unifying force that builds both individual character and national cohesion and cricket is no exception”.

In my country, everyone is very passionate about this sport and today Incredible India are the world champions. Earlier this year an Indian sports tourism company set up shop in Kigali and registered their company with the Rwanda Development Board.

The feat by Eric Dusingizimana, the Rwandan national team captain, in batting for 51 hours without a break, is commendable.

Rwanda Cricket Association has definitely undertaken great initiatives to promote this sport. It is my firm belief that cricket will foster stronger Indo-Rwandan relations in the years ahead.
