After seeing his side secure a deserved 3-1 victory over Senegal, Rwanda’s U-23 women volleyball coach Paul Bitok is optimistic they can continue that impressive form when they come up against giants Egypt on Tuesday at Safaricom Indoor Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.

The team is seeking to win all its remaining games at the Africa Championships, which opened on Sunday and runs through Thursday and subsequently qualify for the 2017 World Championships in Slovenia.

Only the top two teams from the ongoing continental competition will qualify for the World Championships and Bitok believes his team is in position to be one of them.

"We are not here to make up the numbers; our mission is to qualify for the World Championships. The teams we are competing against are among the best in Africa but we are up to the challenge and are ready to put up a fight,” Bitok said.

"We have to win every match we play, that’s our number one target. We want to qualify for the World Cup so we must do our best and put in all our energy,” Bitok added

In their opening match, against Senegal 3-1, Rwanda lost the first set 26-28, but recovered to win the second, third and fourth sets 25-17, 25-14 and 25-19.

In the other match, Kenya beat Botswana 3-0, 25-14, 31-29 before winning the third set 25-14
