After a long wait, Rwandans now know which of their favourite artistes made it to the 2016 Groove awards nomination list.
The shortlisted nominees were officially announced on October 16, at colourful event at Kigali Serena Hotel.
According to Eric Mashukano, the managing director of the Moriah Entertainment, the nominees were voted by local journalists.
The ceremony, organised by Groove Awards Rwanda and Moriah Entertainment Group, will honour gospel artistes from various genres.
This year, a new category, TV Show of the Year, was added, making it 13 categories and for each category, five artistes were shortlisted. The different categories feature several new artistes and it will be interesting to observe how Groove Awards 2016 play out.
The public has almost a month to vote for their favourite artistes ahead of Groove Awards event on November 13. Voting is done through SMS.
Founded in 2004, Groove Awards is a ceremony held annually in both Rwanda and Kenya to honour outstanding performers in the gospel music industry.
