Barely seven months after parting ways with Kenya’s AFC Leopards, Ivan Jacky Minnaert, the former Rayon Sports head coach, has declared his intention to return to the Rwanda National Football League.

In a conversation with Time Sport, the Belgian, who is in Rwanda, made his intentions clear when he stated that he is in the country to discuss business with Rayon Sports.

"I am here for talks with Rayon Sports, I left Rwanda in pretty difficult circumstances but I believe that I had a strong relationship with the club.” Minnaert said.

"My work is not finished in Rwanda yet, I wish to come back, I think there are opportunities for me”.

However, Rayon Sports spokesperson Olivier Gakwaya admitted that the Belgian is in Rwanda for business related matters not on issues to do with coaching or to talk about the possibility of becoming the club’s technical director.

"Ivan is here on the club’s invitation to discuss matters related to promoting and selling the club’s brand name through marketing,” he said

Minnaert dramatically left Rayon Sports after just four months in charge just after leading the blues to a 2-0 win over rivals SC Kiyovu.

He also parted ways with Kenyan side AFC Leopards barely six months into his two year contract following a spate of poor results.
