The King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, arrived in the country yesterday evening, marking the first leg of his three-state tour of eastern Africa.

According to a statement by the Moroccan Government, the King who left Casablanca yesterday morning is accompanied by Crown Prince Moulay Ismail.

The King is also expected to tour neighbouring Tanzania and Ethiopia.

According to the statement, the Moroccan monarch is accompanied by a delegation of senior officials, including several ministers.

The visit to Rwanda from the King is a reciprocation of a visit by President Paul Kagame in June this year, when he had a two-day state visit to the North African state.
