RCA-Devt team captain John Bosco Tuyizere is confident his team will win their first UAE Exchange and Express Money Premier 50-over League game against Kerala Hunters on Sunday at Kicukiro cricket ground.

RCA-Devt team is the newest and youngest club in the league and this will be their first time to play in a 50-overs competition.

Despite being the debutants, Tuyizere says he and his teammates are determined not only to win the first game but also challenge for the title.

"People may say we are the underdogs in this league but we should not accept to be in that situation; that is why we need to win on Sunday and prove a point. We need to avoid reckless mistakes and stay focused like we did in the just concluded Computer Point T20 tournament,” vowed Tuyizere.

He added: "Sunday’s game is the biggest test for us if we are to perform well in this competition, because we are playing a very experienced side. We therefore need to be at our very best, which means the players must put extra effort.”

RCA-Development Team, which is made up of only players under the age of 19, was formed this year in May by the Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA).Since their establishment, the youthful side has proved beyond doubt that they can be a force to reckon with in Rwandan cricket in years to come.In their first competition, Computer Point T20 tournament, the team reached the final before losing to Terugu Royals by 9 wickets.

For the UAE Exchange and Express Money Premier 50-over League, they are together with Kerala Hunters and Terugu Royals in Pool A while Pool B comprise of Indorwa CC, Challengers and the defending champions Right Guard. The top two teams in each pool will advance to the semi-finals.
