Rwanda Basketball Federation (FERWABA) will hold an Extra-ordinary General Assembly on October 23 to discuss several issues including the next national championship calendar, according to the federation president Desire Mugwiza.

"As a federation we cannot just announce the dates when the championship would start because the decision is supposed to be agreed upon by all members during the Assembly. There are also other issues to be discussed which I cannot reveal at the moment,” said Mugwiza.

Last season, APR won the women regular season league title while Ubumwe were crowned the playoffs champions. In the men’s category, Patriots were crowned league champions with IPRC-South lifting the playoffs trophy.

Ubumwe and APR will represent Rwanda at the 2017 FIBA-Africa Zone V Club Championships while Patriots and IPRC-South will compete in the men’s category.
