The newly formed UTB started their preparations on a high, winning the 2016 Alphonse Rutsindura memorial tournament last weekend and, the club has signed nine new players. They have also opened talks with Alex Nkuranga to take over as head coach.

Others are; Evode Munyandinda (right attack) from APR, John Nkurunziza (center) from UNIK and Gustave Rukundo (center) and Emmanuel Mugisha (setter) from Lycee de Nyanza. The new players have been given scholarships to study for free on top of getting match bonuses.

The new signings were confirmed by the club team manager, Philbert Mucyo, on Thursday. He said, "We have signed nine players.”

"We are also trying to get the right coaching staff. We need to build a competitive team, not a team to just be part of the league, but a winning team,” he further explained.
