Scheduled for October 28, the album launch concert will be headlined by one of Uganda’s greatest music acts, Isaiah Katumwa. After parting ways with Neptunez Band, a local Jazz band, the musician, born Herbert Kiggundu, is set for a solo music career.

The 30-year-old will be launching his eight-track debut album, titled Saxo In The City, a collection of his own pieces of music and songs by various local artistes such as Agatako, Ndagukunda, Agasaza, Nyaruguru, Yanumye, Agasaza, and Indoro.

Speaking to The New Times, Herbert promised jazz lovers an exceptional entertainment night- the first of its kind, in Kigali.

"It’s going to be a fun filled night that Kigali has never experienced before. Katumwa is a legendary jazz maestro and this time, two professional saxophone players will be on the same stage performing live,” he said.

Known for his hit albums Sinza, My Joy, Celebrate Africa, and the latest This Is Me, Katumwa is Uganda’s Jazz pioneer and gem, whose innovation has inspired and lured many into jazz.

The self taught saxophonist has shared a stage with global icons like Jonathan Butler, Hugh Masekela, Jimmy Dludlu, Seweto Kinchyamong, and has performed in Europe, UK, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, and in a couple of West and East African Countries. He has also performed for more than 20 heads.
