French saxophonist and jazz singer, Perret Guillaume, is set to perform in Kigali on October 4 at Kigali Serena Hotel. He is a jazz artiste with diverse control in rock, oriental and urban music.

According to Institut Français du Rwanda, the organisers of the concert, they want to develop a jazz culture in Kigali as more people seem interested in it.

"People should expect only the best by this jazz genius. We need to promote this kind of music style in Rwanda,” said Fayolle Gregory, the in-charge of communication at Institut Français du Rwanda.

Guillaume, who is on a regional tour, performed yesterday in Kinshasa, DRC, and will head to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on October 1 before embarking on his journey to Kigali.

The 36-year-old, who will be performing in Rwanda for the first time, promises to give jazz lovers a feel of his hit songs that include Pilgrim and Kakoum, among others.

"I am so excited about performing in Rwanda. I love the fact that Rwandans love jazz. I will play with my saxophone and give them a mix of rock, urban and oriental music. They just need to show up and I guarantee they will have a great time,” said Guillaume.
