2face Idibia to perform in Kigali

The local entertainment scene will be taken a notch higher when Nigerian music icon 2face Idibia holds a concert in Kigali on September 23. 

The singer, born Innocent Ujah Idibia, will perform alongside his country mate rapper M.I in a concert that will be held at Kigali Serena Hotel.

According Belinda Umurerwa, boss of Kigali Entertainment Promoters, the organizers of the concert, it will be an opportunity for the African Queen star to meet his local fans and tour Kigali.

"I was in Nigeria when I met 2face and he told me he was interested in coming back to Kigali because he had heard it had developed tremendously over the years,” Umurerwa said, adding, "He wanted to come and see the changes that people talk about in this country and meet his fans because it has been a long time since he last visited Kigali.”

Upon his arrival on September 22, the Nigerian singer-songwriter and entrepreneur will dine with local artistes at Hotel Hilltop & Country Club in Remera for free and Rwf10, 000 for the fans who want to dine with the star.

2Face is one of the most successful Afro pop artistes in Africa. Throughout his career, the singer has received several awards and nominations for his work in music.

 In 2006, his song, African Queen, was used in the soundtrack for the film, Phat Girlz, which was released internationally. Other popular songs from 2Face are, No Shaking, See Me So, 4 Instance, Enter the Place (featuring Sound Sultan), Implication, Only Me, Rainbow and True Love.

The concert starts at 6p.m and the entrance fee is Rwf10,000. Other confirmed performers include Urban Boys and Tom Close.

After the concert, the music stars will head to K-Club, in Nyarutarama for the after party.
