THREE Rwandan cricketers on Monday left for Uganda to undertake  a two-week training stint with the Uganda national cricket team.

The youngsters include Zappy Bimenyimana, Ivan Mitali and Eric Niyomugabo both playing for Rwanda Cricket Association development team.

According to the Rwanda Cricket Association General Manager, Bridget Uwineza, Uganda has a longtime history of cricket, and thus Rwandan players will get exposure to become better players for the national team in the future.

RCA Development team was started in May this year and within a few months of its establishment; the youngsters have qualified for the finals of this year’s T20 computer point tournament after knocking out defending champions Challengers.

"This is a great opportunity for us, and we really have a great relationship with Uganda. We are very happy for this opportunity and we hope to learn a lot from Uganda,” said Ivan Mitali one of the players.

He added that Uganda’s cricket is highly developed and currently their U-19 team is preparing for next year’s division one world cup cricket qualifications that will be held in South Africa.
