Since joining Bugesera FC last month as the new head coach, Vincent Mashami has been quite busy on the transfer market, with Ugandan midfielder David Ndihabwe being his latest acquisition.

Ndibawe, who can play as an offensive and defensive midfielder, moved from national football league rivals Gicumbi FC, on a one-year contract.

The 23-year old, in an interview with Sunday Sport, confirmed his transfer to the Eastern Province-based side, saying that he is settling well in his new environment.

"Coach Mashami is one of the best in the country, and I think he will take me to the next level in my career. He is the reason I joined Bugesera FC because he gave me convincing reasons to join him. I had other offers but I believe I have made the right choice,” said the Uganda-born player.

Before heading to Accra with Amavubi for the 2017 AFCON qualifier against Ghana, Mashami, who is the national team assistant coach, confirmed Ndibawe’s acquisition, revealing that he wants to sign one two offensive players before the new season begins late this month.

Ndibawe played for Uganda Super League side SC Victoria University before he joined SC Villa until end of the 2015 when he was released—he joined Gicumbi Fc for the 201/16 season.

Bugesera have also signed APR strikers Bertrand Iradukunda and Bienvenue Mugenzi, left-back Mwemere Ngirinshuti from Police FC and veteran center back Aimable ‘Mambo’ Rucogoza from Gicumbi FC to boast their squad ahead of the 2016/2017 campaign.

Bugesera was the surprise package of last season, finishing in a respectable 7th position with 37 points on their debut in the topflight division.
