Ahead of the championships, Rwanda will play international friendlies between September 2 and 4.

"We have to go for the best always; we are facing tough teams like hosts Tunisia, Egypt and Morocco who have been dominating youth and junior categories,” Paul Bitok the national volley ball head coach said.

Bitok noted that they have great talents but is worried of the few days the team had for training due to challenges of school programme.

"The friendlies will help us understand each other and have team work. At the moment all are doing well as individuals but I am still working to make them play as one team because they are from different teams with different ways of play,” the former Kenyan international player added.

"The junior national team players will not participate in the Eldoret competition but will be fighting for the world championship ticket in the coming African Youth championship next week in Tunisia.”

Rwanda will be looking forward to represent Africa for the 2nd time after the last qualifications in 2013 where the country qualified together with Egypt and Tunisia.
