Espoir FC have signed former Burundi and Muzinga head coach Jimmy Ndayizeye as their new head coach and former Rwamagana head coach Francois Kalisa as the former’s assistant on one-year deals.

The Secretary General of the Espoir FC, Simeo Tuyishime told Times Sports that the two coaches were tasked to build a strong side which can challenge for honours next season.

Espoir, who finished in the fourth place in the last edition of Peace Cup, tusked Jimmy Ndayizeye and Kalisa to lead the team to a to four finish in topflight football league next season.

Ndayizeye replaces Alphonse Gatera.  

"We signed them on a one-year renewable contract each and we have tasked them to take the club to another level,” Tuyishime said. "We feel they have what it takes to deliver on our mission. They are both experienced coaches and I think together they will do a good job.”

Meanwhile, Tuyishime said that Espoir have signed former Rayon Sports striker Bodo Ndikumana and Amagaju midfielder Adolphe Hakundukize, both on one-year deals. 

The team have also made six other signings in recent days, including,

Midfielder Serge Gatoto (Musaze), Cameroonian striker Henry Pao (SC Kiyovu), left back Fazir Hatungimana (Musaze), midfielder Alba Wilonja from Etincelles.

They all signed a one-year contract.

"These are the players we feel can help the club achieve its goals next season. We believe we will have an exciting season, we want to go a step or two better than last season,” Tuyishime said.

He added: "Besides signing new players, we also hope to extend contracts of some of our senior players before the end of this month.”
