RE: "MINISPOC refutes claims it sacked McKinstry illegally” (The New Times, August 27).

The truth has been compiled in different comments that sports analysts wrote in The New Times. How do you (Minispoc) inform the media of such a decision before your client?

Partying ways with someone has certain legal procedures to observe. I think the coach was right to say that he only learnt about his sacking through media since he got the official letter at 10:30a.m, whereas the media had been reporting about the same since early morning on the same day. That points to a lack of accountability on the part of Minispoc.

Besides, the saga surrounding the nomination of even interim coaches has only shown how the sacking was conducted. Up to now I, and other football lovers, still wonder how Minispoc could not even apologise to Rwandans as a whole.

Those making such abrupt decisions should know that many Rwandans love their national team. You should at least give a coach ample time to show what they can do. We should not be inserting such clauses as the one that requires a coach to take the country to the African Cup of Nations finals or the World Cup.

I am afraid that Jimmy Mulisa (interim head coach) and Vincent Mashami (interim assistant head coach) will soon be shown the exit door too if they lose the Ghana tie.

Who coaches the Amavubi is not the issue, our policy of sports is. Please give Mashami and Mulisa the time to do their job.
