The 2016 Peace Cup champions Rayon Sports have offloaded four players ahead of the start of the 2016/17 season, which is scheduled to kick off in September.

The offloaded players include; Cedrick Mugenzi, who only signed from Gicumbi FC last year, Alexis Ndacyayisenga, third choice goalie Theophile Musoni as well as left-back Moses Kanamugire, who joined from La Jeunesse in 2013.

The news was confirmed by the club secretary general and spokesman Olivier Gakwaya, who said, "The players have been authorized to pursue their career somewhere else because they no longer fit in the future plans of Rayon Sports.”

Gakwaya noted that the decision to let go of the quartet, was arrived at after an evaluation of the whole squad from last season.

Last season, under the guidance of Djuma Masudi, Rayon Sports won the Peace Cup and will represent Rwanda in next year’s CAF Confederation Cup.

The ‘Blues’ has signed several new players, among them; Abdul Rwatubyaye, Shassir Niyonkuru, Zappy Ishimwe, Ivan Senyange, Frank Lomami, Nova Bayama and Malian striker Moussa Camara.
