To commemorate the holiday spirit and spread joy, Our Past, a youth-led initiative dedicated to educating young people about the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, is organising a Christmas celebration for children on Sunday, December 24.

The event is set to benefit children from Marembo Center, Nyarugenge Correctional Facility (Mageragere Prison), and the Gisimba Afterschool Program. Our Past invites individuals to contribute in any way they can, whether through food, cash, children's books, toys, or kids' clothes, with the shared goal of creating cherished memories and bringing smiles to the faces of these young beneficiaries.

A statement from Our Past encourages donations to be dropped off at various locations, including Haute Baso, Choma’D, Oasis Boutique (MIC Building), Sofaru, and Kivu Noir.

Our Past has announced that the Christmas celebration will not only include gift-giving but will also feature the participation of various artistes. The lineup includes Ariel Wayz, Juno Kizigenza, Bruce The 1st, Kevin Klein, DJ Pyfo, DJ June, DJ Kalexx, and DJ Lou, who will join the festive occasion to bring joy and entertainment to the children.
