Baraka’s first task will be to guide the new team to a respectable eighth position, according to the Secretary General of the team Antoine Dukuzumuremyi.

"We have tasked Baraka to guide us to the top eight positions in first leg matches, and then we can discuss to renew his contract,” Dukuzumuremyi said.

"We believe that Baraka can do a good job because of his experience and knowledge of Rwandan football. We have set him tasks of bringing back glory to Gicumbi.”

Baraka said that he has already embarked on his new task, which he believes can be achieved through team work.  "The idea is to perform better this season and the good thing is that I have been working in Rwanda for a long time. It is a new challenge for me but I believe I can be successful,” he said.

The team has started training ahead of the new season which is supposed to start in September. Last season, Gicumbi FC finished in 9th position with 34 points in 30 games, two points and one place above Etincelles.
