Popular Nigerian artiste, Wizkid, will perform in Kigali for the first time at this year's annual Mutzig Beer Fest organised by Bralirwa on August 27.

On Tuesday, the Show You the Money star took to social media to confirm his upcoming shows in Rwanda and Tanzania.

The one-day Mutzig Beer Fest will take place at Rugende Training Centre, about 15 minutes drive from Kigali City.

The Fest will also feature South African House duo Liquideep, Chilean jazz maestro Tito Al Ulibe and Friends from the United States and local music band Nubian Gypsies.

Liquideep is a multi-award winning duo made up of Ziyon and Ryzor.

According to Patricia Garuka, the Bralirwa Senior Brand Manager, the artistes have confirmed their participation and that people should get ready for great entertainment. Getting to the venue will be easy as bus shuttles will be available to transport the festival goers.

Initially the organisers wanted to bring in Haitian singer, Wyclef Jean but Garuka explained that they realised the people who are into entertainment are young people, thus compelling them to bring the Nigerian music star whose music is currently popular internationally.

Wizkid, who started his music career at the age of 11, is one of Nigeria’s top artistes. His hard work has earned him several awards at local and international level.

The 26-year-old, real name Ibrahim Ayodeji Balogun has a huge fan base in Rwanda. His songs such as Ojuelegba, Jaiye Jaiye, Love My Baby, Bombay (ft Phyno), Holla at Your Boy, Show You the Money, Don’t Dull,  Pakurumo, and Azonto, among others, are enjoying massive airplay on most radio and TV stations in Rwanda.

Last year’s edition of the Fest took place in September and featured Uganda’s Lillian Mbabazi and South Africa’s Mafikizolo.

The Mutzig Beer Fest 2015 was fairly attended.
