Paris Saint-Germain wonderkid Warren Zaïre-Emery has opened up about his reaction when he was told that it was his turn to visit Rwanda.

The 17-year-old France international arrived in Kigali on Thursday, December 21, for a two-day official visit, his first ever to the East African country.

The visit is part of the partnership existing between the French reigning Champions and Rwanda through its tourism brand ‘Visit Rwanda.’

Zaïre-Emery, 17, traveled to Kigali shortly after helping his side beat Metz 3-1 in the French Ligue 1 in the Parc de Princes on Wednesday night, December 20, where he had 90 minutes of action during the match.

"It is my first time here in Rwanda and I am very glad. I was so happy when I learned that I would be visiting Rwanda. It is my first day here but I already love the country," the French youngster told the press.

Upon arrival at the Kigali International Airport, he immediately headed to the Kigali Pele Stadium where he held a training session with children from the PSG Academy in Rwanda after which he was impressed by their level of performance.

"I can see many good players in the academy, it has been wonderful seeing and training with them. I will urge them to go all out and attain success," he said.

Zaïre-Emery further lauded the players from the Academy&039;s U11 and U13 who won the PSG club World Cup in June 2023.

"They did very well and I take this opportunity to congratulate them," he added.

Zaïre-Emery becomes the fifth PSG player to visit Rwanda after former stars Sergio Ramos, Thilo Kehrer, Keylor Navas and Julian Draxler who visited the country in 2022.
