Editor,

RE: "Breast cancer in men” (The New Times, August 15).

Great article, Dr Rachna Pande! Breast cancer awareness and education have played a major role in controlling the disease in developed countries – we can learn from them.

We must all strive to understand and not be ashamed or be silent about any disease which leads to delayed diagnosis and treatment.

It has been proven that early detection is the primary defence against breast cancer and it can save life. "Ikunde, Imenye. Isuzumishe” and share this message; you never know it could encourage someone to seek medical help.

We are our brother’s keepers. Let’s fight breast cancer together: It knows no boundaries and it doesn’t discriminate.
