The DR Congo-born forward was among the new players unveiled by the four-time Ugandan league champions on Thursday. Besides, Bokota, URA also unveiled two Nigerians, Harry Gentle Frank (defender) and Emmanuel Ibe Obina (striker).

The 31-year-old striker was born in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), who he previously played for AS Vita, first arrived in Rwanda in 2006, to join Rayon before switching to league champions APR FC in 2008 for one season.

The veteran striker also played for Rwanda national team, Amavubi, between 2007 and 2010, netting nine goals from 20 international appearances.

Between 2010 and 2011, he also played for FC Le Stars and DC Motema Pembe and later in August 2012, he joined SC Kiyovu on a one-year deal.

In 2013, when the local football governing body, FERWAFA, took drastic measures of limiting the number of foreign player in the league as well as the licensing of players with dual identity especially foreign born, Bokota was one of those affected.

But still, in January this year, he began training with side AS Muhanga before signing for the Southern Province side for the second half of the season but he couldn’t do much to help the club avoid relegation.
