[PHOTOS] RDF medics return from CAR after tour of duty

A team of 63 specialised medical doctors of the Rwanda Defence Forces yesterday, returned home from the Central Africa Republic (CAR) having successfully conducted several medical interventions for members of the public and UN staff.

A team of 63 specialised medical doctors of the Rwanda Defence Forces yesterday, returned home from the Central Africa Republic (CAR) having successfully conducted several medical interventions for members of the public and UN staff.

The Level II Hospital served under the UN Mission in Central Africa Republic.

 

The troop commandant, Lt Col King Kayondo, upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, told other senior military officers that during their stay, the Level II Hospital treated special cases of illnesses, on top of other medical services.

For example, they managed to treat 2,600 cases, 30 per cent underwent surgeries, while the rest were general cases. The returning troops also conducted hygiene campaign where they distributed to schools ‘Made in Rwanda’ sanitation machines, locally known as ‘Kandagira Ukarabe’.
