Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) launched this year’s FIFA Live Your Goals Festivals on Wednesday in the Southern Province.

The festivals will be officially opened on Thursday morning at Huye Stadium by the FERWAFA Executive Committee officer in charge of Women Football, Felicitee Rwemalika.

The event will proceed to Rusizi on Friday morning before heading to Eastern province districts of Nyagatare on August 19 and Bugesera on August 26 while the closing ceremony will be held at Umuganda stadium in Rubavu District on September 9.

After a formal opening ceremony, the participants will be taught the various aspects of football development. This festival is targeting 300 participants between the ages of 14 and 24.

The Live Your Goals concept, hatched on the sidelines of the 2011 World Cup in Germany, is a global initiative that inspires girls and young women to achieve their goals in football through perseverance, fair play and teamwork, all while making new friends.

FIFA provides support to member associations implementing the campaign and festivals in order to help in branding, communications, concept development and financial assistance.

Live Your Goals is FIFA’s dedicated development campaign aimed at inspiring girls and young women to get involved in football and stay in the game.
