The proprietor of Golf Eden Rock Hotel, one of the biggest hotels in Karongi District, was on Wednesday arrested by Police over inciting prostitution among his workers.

The hotel is located on the shores of Lake Kivu in Bwishyura Sector, Western Province.

The 66-year-old hotelier is being held at Bwishyura Police Station in Karongi, according to Theobald Kanamugire, the spokesperson of Rwanda National Police in Western Province.

Kanamugire was reluctant to divulge details of the nature of the crime the suspect is being investigated for, saying it was still an ongoing process before they get to the bottom of it.

However, media reports recently quoted some waitresses working or formerly employed at the hotel accusing the suspect of trying to ‘pimp’ them to guests at the hotel, even when some of the guests were not willing partners.
