Rwanda international Emery Bayisenge is set to travel to Morocco to complete talks for a possible move to Moroccan Premier League side KAC Kenitra, Times Sport has learnt.

Bayisenge, 21, was a key figure in the Rwandan side that reached the quarter-finals of the African Nations Championship (CHAN), earlier this year in Kigali, and also helped APR to a record-extending 16th league title in 22 years. By press time, the former Rwanda U-17 team captain was due to travel to Nairobi to acquire a Moroccan visa before travelling to Casablanca to finalise talks.

"We have agreed on everything with the club, what’s remaining is signing the contract. I have got all the required papers, my current club (APR FC) have endorsed my transfer and I hope it will improve my career growth as a footballer,” Bayisenge told Times Sport.

The ex-Isonga FC starlet, who was part of the U-17 team that played at the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Mexico, added that, "Once the club sends me the air-ticket, I will go for the final talks about the length of the contract and all the other contractual details.”

Bayisenge has had multiple opportunities for professional trials in Europe, but had not been fortunate enough to secure a move.

In July 2015, he reportedly signed a one-year contract with Austria’s second division league side Linz FC, but the deal fell through after he failed to secure a work permit, and was forced to come back and rejoin his club, APR in December.

He also had trials at French side Toulouse FC in 2012 and Zulte Walgem (Belgium) in 2013 but both occasions failed to materialise into a breakthrough for a professional career for the talented youngster.
