Jean Lomami scored a brace in Atraco’s 4-0 win over Amagaju at Shorongyi ground on last Saturday.

Ugandan striker Hamis Kitagenda and ex-Mukura midfielder Fils Muvunyi scored the other goals to maintain the champions’ lead at the top of the national league table.

Lomami’s brace on Saturday took his goal tally to six thus keeping him in contention for the top goal scorer award.

The win took Sam Timbe’s side to 15 points, one ahead of their main title challengers APR who beat Marines 3-1 in Muhanga.

DR Congo international striker Ndjoli Bokungu opened the scoring in the 25th for APR before Mbuyu Twite and Fuadi Ndayisenga added onto the tally to keep the club’s title quest on track.

Kassim Ndayishimiye scored the consolation for Marines who have now dropped to fourth place.

Marines are level on points with Rayon Sports, who notched their second win of the season against Electrogaz.

The blues pulled off a 2-1 win at Mironko. Theoneste Muhayimana and Yusuf Ndayishimiye were on target for Raoul Shungu’s side that now stands on 10 points.

In Huye, hosts Mukura came from behind to draw 3-3 with AS Kigali. The visitors took a 3-0 lead through Egide Twahirwa, Pablo Ndayishimiye and Amin Uwihoreye but the home side rallied with goals from Freddie Uwumugisha and a brace from former APR striker Abubaker Munyambegu.

At Camp Kigali, there was more misery for relegation battling La Jeunesse as they lost 2-1 to Police.

Egide Ndayishimiye scored a brace to cancel out Robert Nguga’s first half strike for Police.
