Is WizKid coming to Rwanda?

At only 26, Nigerian singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, commonly known by his stage name, Wizkid, is living his dream. The talented singer won hearts with the release of his hit single Ojuelegba and has already recorded a song with pop sensation Chris Brown (African Bad Girl) and Drake (One Dance) and is currently working on a collaboration with Jamaican sensation Sean Paul.

We are now informed that after wowing Rwandans with South African stars Mafikizolo last year, Bralirwa is now considering flying in Wizkid as the main act for this year’s Beer Festival slated for August 27.

The information we obtained further says that the two singer’s management and the sponsor are in negotiations and are going through the details before they can sign and make the deal public.

We will keep you posted.

Washington is just a friend - Allioni

Allioni

He has made a name for himself in the region as one of the best music producers; she is a young and feisty musician, but is Washington spending a little bit more time with Aline Buzindu Uwamwezi, commonly known as Allioni, outside the studios?

Well, the rumour mill has been doing rounds that the two are an item, something that keeps rubbing the singer the wrong way.

We are told that Allioni has switched from using Washington as her producer to tone down on the rumours that keep circulating that the two are romantically involved.

She is said to be especially upset that the stories could damage her reputation because Washington, who is her close friend and a huge supporter of her music career, is a married man.

So far, Allioni, who has attracted a lot of attention due to her fashion sense during the ongoing Primus GumaGuma Super Star Season 6 competition, claims that she will be using local music producers, in what she says is her contribution to supporting local arts.

Katauti is tired of marriage woe rumours

Oprah

Hamad Ndikumana, commonly known as Katauti, made a name for himself a decade ago when he was a star player with the national football team Amavubi, but his marriage to Tanzanian actress Irene Uwoya, commonly known as Oprah, seems to have overshadowed everything.

The couple, who have been married for the last seven years and have a son, have been torn apart by rumours that their marriage is on the rocks.

Though both have previously denied having any issues, the fact that Katauti plays for Espoir FC and resides in the Western Province and Oprah lives in Tanzania, has not made it easy to convince their fans.

Katauti says that his wife is very busy and rarely gets time to come to Rwanda but insists that he makes the journey to see her and their child as much as possible.

Oprah, who is a successful actress and has contested for a seat in the Tanzanian parliament, has been linked to several men, including singer Diamond, something that is said to annoy her husband. Is there more to the story than meets the eye? We will definitely keep you posted.

Is romance brewing between Sharifa and Olvis?

Sharifah

Sharifah Umuhoza may have walked away from this year’s Miss Rwanda competition as fourth runner up with the Miss Popularity crown, but rumours suggest that her eyes could be set on a different prize.

Well, rumours linking Sharifah and Active’s Olvis Mugabo have been flying around for days, thanks to a recent photo posted by Olvis on Instagram and captioned ‘Friends since 2013’.

While both parties continue to deny the romance, fans have been speculating, some even suggesting that the fame hungry Olvis could be using Sharifah for publicity purposes, a month after he caused public uproar with his ugly split from Miss Rwanda 2015 runner up, Vanessa Uwase.

Are we about to see a new romance on these pages? Well, we will keep our eyes and ears open.

Priscillah is homesick

Priscillah

Priscillah Umuratwa has been living in California, United States, for the last three years, where she has been pursuing a degree in International Relations but also pursuing her career as a singer.

But it seems that the successful singer who has over the few years released mega hits like Icyo Mbarusha, Nka Paradizo on which she features Meddy, and Ntacyadutanya on which she features The Ben, misses home and is ready to come for a break.

The singer is not coming empty handed. She is said to be working on a 10-track album which she plans to launch in Rwanda and several other countries.

Also, differently, some of her music is in English as she plans to spread her musical wings across borders. In the meantime, the beautiful singer is expected to release her single Na na na which is a summer song.
