Rayon Sports FC striker Davis Kasirye has completed his move to DR Congo’s Daring Club Motema Pembe for a reported $90,000 transfer fee. The Uganda international signed a two-year contract.

Kasirye’s move to Mopema Pembe was confirmed by Rayon Sports secretary general, Olivier Gakwaya, who is in the Congolese capital, Kinshasa.

The 20-year-old talisman joined the Blues a year ago, as a free agent after being rejected by Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).

Kasirye netted 13 times to help Rayon Sports finish second in the league and played a crucial role in leading the club to win the Peace Cup, the first in 11 years.

"It’s a done deal; Kasirye is now officially a Mopema Pembe player. He has signed a two-year contract,” Gakwaya told this paper in a telephone interview on Tuesday evening.

Gakwaya declined to give details of the transfer but according to reliable sources, Rayon Sports will bag $ 40,000 from the two years that were remaining on the player’s contract and the rest will be shared by Kasirye and his agent, Ronnie Fred Santos-Mwine.

The forward, who received his maiden international cap for Uganda this year, is the second first team player to leave Rayon Sports after left-back Emmanuel Imanishimwe, who crossed to archrivals APR under controversial circumstances.

Rayon Sports have managed to tie down the likes of Malian Ismail Diarra and Burundian Pierrot Kwizera through new contracts, shaking off interest from other clubs.
