Gasabo moves to upgrade roads, city infrastructure

Gasabo District is set to upgrade and renovate the district infrastructure in line with the Kigali City Master Plan. This follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the district and Horizon Construction Company Ltd to facilitate the upgrading, construction and renovation of roads in the district.

Gasabo District is set to upgrade and renovate the district infrastructure in line with the Kigali City Master Plan. This follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the district and Horizon Construction Company Ltd to facilitate the upgrading, construction and renovation of roads in the district.

The MOU was signed on Monday at Gasabo District headquarters, and the event was attended by a team led by Eugene Haguma, the CEO of Horizon Group and Gasabo District staff and executive secretaries of all sectors, led by Stephen Rwamurangwa, the district mayor. 

Speaking at the event, mayor Rwamurangwa said the MoU is expected to expedite implementation of the district’s infrastructure activities.

Rwamurangwa also observed that the partnership will benefit residents of Gasabo and the City of Kigali in general.

Alex Rusagara, the Chief Operating Officer, Horizon Group, said the partnership is based on shared goals and responsibilities.

He noted that Horizon Group has a role to play in the development of the country through construction and management of different infrastructure projects. 

"This is a critical area in the development of the country …this why we decided to join efforts and work together in our action plan,” Rusagara said.
