Kashaka, Rwigema win MTN golf tourney

Davis Kashaka (men) and Alice Rwigema (ladies) displayed their class and experience as they brushed aside their rivals to win the inaugural MTN Pull and Push golf tournament on Saturday at the new 9-hole Kigali Golf club course in Nyarutarama.

Kashaka fired an amazing 72 net score in the handicap 0-9 to overcome the close challenge of Joseph Semwaga, who had 73 while Innocent Rutamu settled for third with 76 net.

In handicap 10-18, South Korean Kim M.H finished on top with 63 followed by Kenyan Kennedy Mulishu with 71, who tied with Canadian, Kelly Donard.

Marvin Semwaga won the handicap 19-28 category with 67 comfortably beating his closest challengers Allan Gichuhi, who had 72 and Benjamin Mukisa with 77.

Meanwhile, in the ladies category, Alice Rwigema hit her best score of 66 to win the trophy, she tied with Park K.J, who also had 66 while Philip Sheetal settled for third place with 71.

The tournament was sponsored by MTN under their product ‘Push and Pull’, which aims to improve access to mobile financial services (MFS) by enabling customers to move money between their MTN Mobile Money account and their banks using ATM machines and vice versa.

The top three in each category were rewarded with trophies.
