Tuesday, December 19, 2023

After a hiatus that spanned nearly three years, Rwandan artiste and lyricist Niyo Bosco is set to return in the game with maiden extended play (EP) dubbed ‘New Chapter’.

The upcoming EP is a result of a new contract that the artiste recently signed with one of the biggest record labels in the country, KIKAC music, which is also home to female star Bwiza.

Taking to social media to announce the development, Niyo posted on X, formerly Twitter, that he is thrilled to announce a new chapter in his music career by dropping a new project after a two-year hiatus.

"I am thrilled to announce the tracklist for my upcoming album #NewChapter !

Huge S/O to all the amazing producers who worked tirelessly to make this project come to life. You guys are the real MVP's”Niyo captioned a track list picture of the EP on X.

The announcement was highly welcomed by many of Niyo’s fans, who have been eagerly waiting for his comeback ever since he started fighting with former management lines which stopped him from producing music.

The five-track EP was produced by some of the biggest producers in Rwanda including the likes of Prince Kiiiz, Santana, X on The Beat and Loader.

Niyo has not been releasing music ever since he parted ways with Murindahabi’s MIE on October 28, 2022, for fraudulently taking advantage of his talent and not pay him 30 per cent revenue of his YouTube income, among other causes.

The artiste later joined Sunday Entertainment label which he accused of repeating same mistakes that had pushed him to leave MIE and joined MetroAfro in September this year that he also left without producing any project.

It is said that the new management is working with the artiste to help him produce and distribute his upcoming EP and first album that debuts next year.

Niyo remains one of the best singers and lyricists in the history of the Rwandan music industry. He rose to fame after the release of his first track 'Ubigenza Ute' and later dropped hit songs like Piyapuresha, Ishyano, Seka, Urugi and many others.
