Kigali Golf Club in partnership with MTN Rwanda have launched a golf competition dubbed "MTN Push and Pull tournament”, with the inaugural edition scheduled for today at the new 9-hole Kigali Golf club course in Nyarutarama.

The tournament is sponsored by MTN under their product ‘Push and Pull’, which aims to improve access to mobile financial services (MFS) by enabling customers to move money between their MTN Mobile Money account and their banks using ATM machines and vice versa.

"MTN has been our partner for a long time and big sponsors of golf in Rwanda, we have come up with this tournament as the curtain-raiser for the MTN Open scheduled for September,” said Kigali Golf club captain, Dr. Davis Kashaka.

According to Kashaka, the one-day tournament is expected to attract over 70 amateur golfers playing in different categories, namely; handicapped 0-9, 10-18, 19-28, seniors and the ladies.

The national team players will also compete in the tournament as they prepare for the 2016 East African Challenge that will be held in Ethiopia in November. The winners of the different categories will walk away with various prizes including trophies.
