Police FC have completed the signing of left back Celestin Ndayishimiye from Mukura Victory Sports and forward Amini Muzerwa from AS Kigali for an undisclosed fee.

Both players signed two-year contracts. Ndayishimiye and Muzerwa signed as free agents.

"We have signed the two players for two years and we believe they will make Police FC stronger. We’re sure these two and other new players we hope to add to the team will help the club do better than we did last season,” Police FC spokesperson, CIP Jean de Dieu Mayira, said on Thursday.

Last week, Police FC appointed head coach Innocent Seninga on a one-year contract and tasked him to win at least one trophy next season. Seninga replaces Andre Casa Mbungo, who was sacked with two league matches left to the end of last season.

Under Casa Mbungo, Police finished in fifth in the league and failed to successfully defend the Peace Cup title.

Mayira added that, "Our new signings fit in very well with our structure and future plans. They are all experienced players and we hope they can add strength to the squad as we chase for trophies next season.”

Mayira said Police FC are still very active in the transfer market, especially in defence and midfield areas.

Times Sport understands that the 2015 Peace Cup winners are also talks with Etincelles’ midfielder Hussein Habimana and goalie Danny Barthez Nduwayo.

Police have already lost key players such as midfielders Innocent ‘Di Maria’ Habyarimana and Imran Nshimiyimana, and goalkeeper Emery Mvuyekure, who have since joined league champions APR FC.

They also lost defensive midfielder Rachid Kalisa, who will be joining Slovakia third division side MFK Topvar Topoľčany this week.
