Prince Kid

Prince Kid survives death

He is the man behind Rwanda Inspiration BackUp; the organisers of the Miss Rwanda contest for the last three years, so it is no surprise that Ishimwe Dieudonné commonly known as Prince Kid almost died trying to do what is best for the reigning queen; Jolly Umutesi.

We are told that the young entrepreneur who had packed his car and used a motorcycle to rush to the British Embassy to help secure two visas for himself and Umutesi almost lost his life when a truck hit the motorcycle, instantly killing the rider and seriously injuring Prince Kid.

As we write this, Prince is nursing serious injuries and can barely walk. We wish him a quick recovery.

Hard times for Teta, Uwase

Miss Teta Sandra (L) and Miss Vanessa Uwase

They say bad publicity is still publicity but it seems this belief has not worked for business partners and socialites Sandra Teta and Vanessa Uwase.

After being fodder for tabloids for almost a month now, if these two young ladies were elsewhere, maybe they would be smiling to the bank but it has been the opposite instead.

TV 10 is said to have cancelled their show and not even given them the courtesy of a heads up. Instead, the young events’ organisers are said to have first heard of the cancellation from entertainment news tabloids and were completely ignored when they desperately tried to call their bosses for details.

It has since emerged that the television station management did not feel the need to write formal letters to the duo and instead chose to communicate to them via email since they were not permanent staff. Ouch!

Active Boys succumb to public pressure

Active boys

Active Boys have for the last year been gaining more and more fans and their position was finally getting cemented among the best.

That is until Olvis Mugabo and Derek Sano; two of the three band members decided to date two close friends, who recently took a decision to breakup with them; on social media.

Well, while most people thought that the move was a publicity stunt, the back and forth exchange backfired so badly and fans of both decided they had had enough, taking to social media and calling into radio shows to criticize their behavior.

Well, we are now told that Active Boys have bowed to the pressure and are taking a hiatus from the public eye for at least one month to ‘get back to the basics.’

The group is said to have gotten negative feedback from last weeks’ events and are trying to find a way to win favor and continue their journey up the music chain. Will this hiatus help? Maybe. We will keep you posted.

Meddy set for Canada concerts

Meddy

Singer Ngabo Medard commonly known as Meddy broke hearts of his fans when he traveled to the US for a concert and decided to stay.

What most didn’t know then was that the move would pave a new path for him as a Rwandan musician.

This coming month, Meddy will be in Canada where he is scheduled to perform in Edmonton on August 6, in Ottawa on August 12 and Montreal on August 13.

Will Rwandans in Diaspora be able to part with $30 and $40 to see Meddy? We will keep you posted.

What is Danny Nanone up to?

Danny Nanone

Is singer Danny Nanone real names Danny Ntakirutimana courting a place in politics?

Well, the talented man and one of the most liked musicians in the ongoing Primus Guma Guma Super Star Season Six has been busy.

So what is going on? Well, the singer recently shocked many when he announced that he was contributing half a million to Agaciro Fund. Most were skeptical about his offer till he actually indeed paid the money. Now, Nanone has launched Ihundo Campaign through which he intends to launch different activities that will see Rwf 100M collected from all over the country towards Agaciro Fund.

That’s not all. Nanone has been behind the production of books that carry educational messages of social change especially designed for children and young adults.

So is Nanone paving way for something really big or is he simply using his platform to make a difference? We will be watching.
