Former Amavubi and central defender Aimable ‘Mambo’ Rucogoza has confirmed he will leave Gicumbi FC when his contract runs out at the end of the season.

The 35-year-old has been an integral part of Emmanuel Ruremesha’s team which is currently in ninth place with 34 points, with one game remaining.

"I am thankful to the club management and the fans of Gicumbi FC. They have been good to me and they remain in my heart,” Rucogoza said.

The former Rayon Sports player has not revealed his next destination, but Gicumbi FC have not given up hope of persuading him to extend his stay.

"I will not be in Gicumbi next season, when it comes to me making the final decision; I would be surprised if I stay in Gicumbi. But surprises in football do happen,” Mambo said.
