In June, 2016 His Excellency President Paul Kagame launched a 22 million USD depot established by SP. The depot which is located in Rusororo sector, Gasabo District in the outskirts of Kigali City is the largest in the country and has a storage capacity of 22 million litres.

This depot moves the country closer to resolving challenges of fuel demand and supply in the growing local market. The establishment of the depot raised the country’s fuel storage from 52 to 74 million litres.

The fuel depot is built on a 12ha land which fulfils the requirements of a standard modern and international fuel depot. The facility is installed with CCTV surveillance, has ample parking space for over 100 long haul trucks, 7 loading and 3 offloading trucks, a well-equipped laboratory for quality assurance and a comprehensive fire fighting unit with water storage of up to 1.5 million litres.

SP’S future plan is to increase the storage capacity of the depot to 60 million litres in the next five years.
