Espoir FC 0-0 APRAS Kigali 1-1 Rayon Sports

AS Kigali coach Eric Nshimiyimana is confident that his AS Kigali side can win the semi-final second leg match against Rayon Sports in the Peace Cup on Friday at Muhanga Regional Stadium.

Both teams played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg on Tuesday at Kigali Regional Stadium. Burundian forward Pierrot Kwizera scored for Rayon Sports 13 minutes into the game while striker Onesme Twizerimana came off from the bench to equalize for AS Kigali in the 79th minute.

"Our target is to win the second leg. We’re taking this fixture more seriously than we did in the first leg,” Nshimiyimana said in a post-match interview after Tuesday’s first leg.

He added that, "We will go to attack and look for goals and defend. We want to play an attacking game to ensure that we progress to the final.”

Meanwhile, his counterpart Djuma Masudi said: "We are not happy with the draw, having taken an early lead and created many chances to win the game in the first half.”

"We would have wanted to finish the job in the first leg, but the draw means we still have a lot of work to do in the second leg if we’re to reach the final.”

Elsewhere, in the other semi-final, APR FC host Espoir at Kigali Regional Stadium on Friday—the first leg on Tuesday in Rusizi, ended 0-0.

The final will be played on June 4, and the eventual winner will represent Rwanda in next year’s CAF Confederation Cup.
