Bond market rakes in Rwf5.3m turnover

The bond market recorded a total turnover of Rwf5.3 million from Rwf5 million worth of bonds at Rwf105.13 traded in one deal yesterday, the Rwanda Stock Exchange (RSE) daily market report indicates. 

Bank of Kigali raked in a total turnover of Rwf1.4 million from 5,000 shares transacted in four deals. The counter closed at Rwf280, unchanged from Friday’s share price.

Both the Rwanda Share Index and the All Share Index were unchanged yesterday to close at 143.13 and 130.15 points, respectively.

The other equities counters were quiet. Bralirwa closed at Rwf169, Crystal Telecom was at Rwf81 having shed Rwf7 on Friday, and Equity closed at Rwf334. NMG was at Rwf1,200, KCB at Rwf330, and Uchumi Supermarkets was at Rwf104.

At the end of the formal trading hours, there was an outstanding offer of 700 shares at the Bank of Kigali counter at Rwf290, while Bralirwa had offers of 118,600 shares at between Rwf170 and Rwf173, but both firms did not get any buyers. On the Crystal Telecom counter, there were outstanding offers of 2,100,500 shares at between Rwf82 and Rwf95, and a bid for 5,800 shares at Rwf81. KCB received an outstanding offer of 9,700 shares at Rwf340, but no bidders.
