Morocco will organise this year’s Men’s U21 African Nations Championship in Tangier town from September 18-24.

Morocco organized the Men’s Senior African Nations Championship in 2011 after African Volleyball Confederation granted them to organize the 2016 Men’s U21 African Nations Championship.

The registration deadline for the National Federations willing to participate is August 24. Egypt are the defending champions.

The top two teams will qualify to the FIVB Men’s World Championship in 2017. Rwanda did not participate in last year’s event as the local federation said they have many competitions including All African Games for men, women indoor volleyball and beach.

Three years ago, Rwanda U-21 beat North African oppositions Algeria and Morocco to secure third position in Africa and a place in the FIVB Men’s U21 World Championship which took place in Ankara and Izmir, Turkey.

For the first time ever, in the Men’s U21 World Championship, Rwanda finished in 20th place.
