Gicumbi Football Club head coach, Emmanuel Rutemesha, has resigned from the club, Times Sport has leant.

"I am quitting because of personal reasons. I have taken decision and I have told my bosses, they know why I am quitting the club. The fans have been wonderful and I thank my players who really did a good job,” he said after beating Sunrise 2-1 in the National Football League match on Saturday to move into 7th spot with 34 points.

Ruremesha, 43, joined Gicumbi FC from Rusizi-based Espoir in 2013 and alongside the late Jean Paul Kalisa guided the team to the top division before signing a two-year deal.

Last season, Gicumbi FC finished in sixth position. Ruremesha helped Kibuye gain promotion to the national league in 2005-2006 season, before coaching different teams including Mukura (twice), Atraco, Rayon Sport, La Jeunesse, and Espoir FC.
