APR FC bounced back from their recent stumbling form with a convincing 4-1 victory over Gorilla FC at Kigali Pele Stadium on Friday.

Nigerian import Victor Mbaoma scored twice while Ismail Pitchou Nshimirimana and Apam Assongwe netted one each as APR recorded an emphatic win to the delight of home supporters who had for some days been unimpressed by club’s performance.

APR head coach Thierry Froger and his players were booed by the fans in their previous league game against Gasogi United following a goalless draw and they made amends with a spectacular performance against Gorilla on Friday.

APR dominated the game from the beginning and opened the scoring through Ismail Nshimirimana strike in the 29th minute.

Gorilla FC looked very disorganized as they hardly troubled the APR back four made up of Omborenga Fitina, Christian Ishimwe, Ynusu Nshimiyimana and Clement Niyigena.

APR doubled the lead in the 58th minute through Mbaoma who was a nightmare for Gorilla defenders before he was replaced late in the second half.

Gorilla got their acts together and pulled one back in the 66th minute courtesy of Cedric Mavugo before Mbaoma put the game beyond reach with his personal second and the third goal for APR in the 78th minute.

Substitute Apam Assongwe, who had replaced Gilbert Mugisha, netted APR's fourth goal in the 85th minute as they held on to a 4-1 victory.
